Anti-Federalist Writer Richard Henry Lee

2. We may do away with several state governments, and form or consolidate all the states into one entire government, with one executive, one judiciary, and one legislature, consisting of senators and representatives collected from all parts of the union: In this case there would be a complete consolidation of the states.

This was the second of the three forms of free government proposed to consolidate the states under one government.  The responsibility will be divided into three components: Executive, judiciary, and legislature, which will consist of senators and representatives working together from all parts of the country.

This passage stood out to me because it is familiar.  Previously we learned about the separation of powers and checks and balances. This is how the U.S. Government operates. Executive is the president, judiciary is the supreme court, and legislature is congress.
